Is it possible to meet the daily required chromium with diet only?

Our modern diets have an excess of refined carbohydrates that have stripped of more than 90% of chromium content. The average chromium content per 1000 kcal of food is about 13.4μg. Assuming a mean chromium content of 15μg per 1000 kcal, then more than 3000 kcal will have to be consumed daily to meet the minimum adequate intake of chromium which is 50μg. This is an excessive caloric intake*. The chromium intake by people nowadays is generally far below the borderline. In America for instance, the average daily intake of chromium is only 25-33μg2.
